Download Microsoft Security Essentials 4.0 Beta


The software giant has introduced its Microsoft Security Essentials 4.0 Beta and has also made it available for download.

Microsoft announced beta version of its security suite earlier this month and delivered beta bits to participants today. Now, the software giant, Microsoft launched its latest beta which comes with simplified UI, improved protection engine, enhanced protection, and performance improvements. Microsoft Security Essentials 4.0 Beta is now available for download at Microsoft Connect site. If you are interested to download it then you can now use the Windows Live ID to avail the beta copy from Microsoft Connect.

Microsoft released its 2nd version in December last year. Originally, Security Essentials were introduced in September 2009 by Microsoft. Microsoft Security Essentials is free anti-virus software and is intended to work on Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 and guard’s end users against virus threats and spy ware.

The company plans to include the following enhancements with the update:

  • Enhanced protection through automatic malware remediation
  • Enhanced performance
  • Simplified UI
  • New and improved protection engine

Microsoft Essential Security Beta 4.0

Microsoft Security Essentials 4.0 beta includes following improvements:

  • Enhanced performance – The Beta includes many performance improvements to make sure your PC performance isn’t negatively impacted.
  • Simplified UI – Simplified UI makes Microsoft Security Essentials Beta easier to use.
  • New and improved protection engine – The updated engine offers enhanced detection and cleanup capabilities.

Note:- Separate installers are available for 32-bit and 64-bit Windows. Be sure to download the right version. The download size of 32-bit version is 8.87 MB and 64-bit is 11.04 MB.
