How to ensure fine working of Multifunction Printer in Windows 7


Multifunction Printer is mainly an office or home machine which incorporates the functionality of a Printer, Scanner, Photocopier, and Fax and sometimes E-mail in it.

Multifunction Printer requires special drivers to work perfectly in Windows 7 computer. Mainly the device manufacturer provides the drivers and utilities that are needed to make sure the perfect working of the device but sometimes due to some reasons the MFP’s failed to work properly.

We can’t say when we have to face any problem and if you own a MFP that has been manufactured before the release of Windows 7 then you may face few of them anytime. Run Windows Update to search the drivers

Sometimes Microsoft has something for you, so it’s good to check once with them as well. To run Windows Update, take the following steps:

  1. Connect your Multifunction printer to computer.
  2. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click System and Security.
  3. Under Windows Update, click Check for updates.

If an update will be available for your device, it will be automatically installed in your computer and configure you multifunction printer.

Sometimes, installing the old driver and device software in compatibility mode also works.

  1. To do so, just right click on the setup file and open Properties.
  2. Now go to Compatibility Tab and select an older version of Windows from the list and click Apply and OK.
  3. Run the setup file, complete the installation and try to use the device. Chances are low but it works in certain conditions.

There is nothing more you can do to make your device work perfectly on Windows 7 if the correct drivers aren’t available.
