HTC Titan 2: Impressions and Full Phone Specifications

Back in November, HTC revealed HTC Titan, a Windows Phone device and now at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2012 they have showcased its successor named HTC Titan 2.

Though it resembles same looks as of its predecessor, HTC Titan, but two major enhancements has been integrated in the phone.

The first enhancement that can be seen is the support for AT&T’s mounting 4G LTE network. The second is a rear-facing camera capable of capturing a whopping 16 megapixels. Notably, the new Windows Phone 7 HTC Titan 2 camera is more impressive than the recently announced Sony super phone, the Xperia S.

It is popular among the folks that the camera with more megapixels offers better and rich quality pictures, and certainly this myth was proved correct after seeing the detail in the pictures that HTC took because the images were astronomical and it is good to know that 16 megapixel is now becoming a new standard in Smartphones.

HTC really looks fervent about this phone’s camera, and surprisingly this phone also comprehends image stabilization, a variety of focus modes, 720P video recording, and a dedicated camera button.

Friends, if you think that the camera of this phone is the only major selling point, then you might be wrong as it deviates from its predecessor. Like, the original Titan had a removable battery, but the Titan 2 does not. But the trade is that the battery power has been leap from 1600mAh to 1730mAh in Titan 2.

The Titan 2 has specifications similar like any other Windows Phones have, as inside it is powered with a 1.5GHz Snapdragon processor, seconded by 512MB of RAM and 16GBs of non-expandable storage.

To continue the heritage tag of Titan possessing the biggest Windows Phone display, the Titan 2 retains the 4.7-in WVGA super LCD capacitive touchscreen intact.

The screen looks gigantic and gorgeous, the Windows Phone 7.5 Mango looks impeccably crisp on it the device is textured into dimensional measurements of 132 x 69 x 13 mm and weighs 147 g. One other feature that adds inimitability feature to it is a 1.3 megapixel secondary camera in front to enable video calling.

HTC Titan 2 Availability and Pricing

Though the monster is expected to land in somewhere first quarter of this year, there have been no official words about its pricing.

The verdict

Though, the remaining specifications seem to be identical to its prior version, but these two major features are enough to make it the beast of all phones available yet in the market. The new HTC Windows Phone is for now only confirmed for the launch in US, with 4G LTE support enabling much faster download speeds and web-browsing. Using 16-megapixel camera is really going to be a great fun.
